Best wedding venues in Barcelona and Catalonia, Spain to get married in 2025

The province of Catalonia is undoubtedly an area filled with incredible places to celebrate your wedding, from charming country houses nestled in the mountains, to castles steeped in history, or luxurious estates where you can celebrate your wedding in style. As wedding photographers, we've had the opportunity to visit and work in many of these spaces, which is why we want to create a list of those we believe could be your chosen venue for your big day.

If you are looking for great venues in Barcelona or Catalonia over all, and you are looking for other options to the venues you have already seen in other blogs, such as Castell de Sant Marçal, Convent de Blanes, Bell Recó or La Farinera de Sant Lluis, here are some alternatives venues we really enjoyed and we are sure you will fall in love with them. We'll likely miss out on many and perhaps many are yet to be discovered, but for now, this would be our list.

Mas Can Ferrer

Mas Can Ferrer is an estate located in the middle of the Montseny Natural Park, surrounded by unbeatable views of the summit of Les Agudes, which provide an impressive backdrop throughout the garden space, including the house, ceremony area, and cocktail hour.

The space is characterized by its well-maintained gardens and oak forests that surround the area, offering plenty of room to separate and enjoy each of them during the wedding day. On one hand, there's the area where the farmhouse is located, with newly renovated rooms, creating a rustic and warm atmosphere, ideal for both the groom and the bride to prepare for the ceremony.

Then, there's an impressive garden with incredible views, which can be divided into the section for the ceremony and another for the cocktail hour and/or reception.

Undoubtedly, this garden is one of the most iconic parts of the venue, as it offers views of the Montseny Natural Park in the background, creating a sense of depth and being surrounded by incredible nature.

Finally, we have a marquee set up at the end of the garden, where in case you want to have the meal indoors, that option is available. Moreover, in case of bad weather, it still provides a great alternative, as it's a bright marquee with the same views as outdoors.

Having so many different areas within the same space gives us the opportunity to modulate and distribute the moments much better, allowing for a very dynamic wedding experience in terms of spaces, which few wedding venues can offer.

Positive points:

  1. Spectacular views of the Montseny Natural Park.

  2. Variety of spaces for different parts of the wedding.

  3. Charming space for both the groom and bride's preparations.

  4. Friendly and attentive service from the management.

  5. Option for a plan B in case of bad weather.

  6. If the wedding takes place in the summer months, the mountain location offers cooler weather.

Negative points:

  1. Distance from Barcelona, approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

  2. Being in the mountains, the weather can be more changeable with gusts of wind.

  3. As the entire space is covered in grass, be careful with high heels that may get stuck.

Therefore, as wedding photographers, we can conclude that Mas Can Ferrer is one of those spaces that is incredibly visually appealing, both for its views and the variety of spaces it offers. This results in a visually stunning outcome with a diverse combination of moments throughout the day.

La Vinyassa

In the same town of Arbúcies, within the idyllic and privileged setting of the Montseny Natural Park, you'll find La Vinyassa, a space where tranquility reigns supreme. It's a magical place where nature has the ability to stop time and fill everyone who arrives with peace. Simply put, it's a place that's hard to say goodbye to.

Once you're inside the estate, the sensation is like being in the middle of the jungle, with an impressive variety of vegetation all in one place. La Vinyassa offers a variety of spaces to use throughout the day.

Firstly, there's a beautiful farmhouse recently renovated with a modern rustic touch that provides the warmth that any groom or bride needs in those nervous moments before the ceremony. It consists of two separate houses to provide that point of intimacy and comfort for both families, ensuring that the couple doesn't have the chance to meet before the ceremony.

Then, there's the most iconic part of La Vinyassa, which is its ceremony space, a square in the middle of the forest surrounded by majestic trees. The greenery and brown tones of the benches give that characteristic touch of La Vinyassa, and it's one of those places where whether the day is sunny or cloudy, it's equally charming. However, be cautious in the height of summer with mosquitoes, as they can be quite bothersome, so don't forget your mosquito repellent.

Once the ceremony finishes, we move to the cocktail area, a spacious garden area surrounded by trees and part of the estate that gives us that rustic feel as if we were in the high mountains. The exquisite dishes from La Vinyassa's own kitchen will leave no one indifferent with their culinary variety. This space is perfect for the gathering of all guests and to have a great time before moving to the banquet area, which is located just below the cocktail area.

The banquet space is a naturally semi-covered area that allows us to enjoy nature and make use of the outdoor space of the estate, without giving up the possibility of rain. It's a elongated space where the best way to arrange the tables is in a long manner, making it look like everyone is connected and facilitating the hard work of table organization.

After the meal, La Vinyassa has another space reserved for us for the party, and this is the room on the upper floor where the cocktail hour is held, a rustic space where you can dance and enjoy until late at night to end the wedding day on a high note.

Positive points:

  1. Feeling of being surrounded by nature.

  2. Very rustic and natural atmosphere.

  3. Outstanding treatment from the management, as they host few weddings per year, allowing for a much closer and careful treatment with each couple.

  4. Different spaces for the different parts of the wedding.

  5. Easy access as it's located in the same town of Arbúcies.

  6. Very pleasant temperature in summer thanks to being surrounded by so much vegetation.

Negative points:

  1. If you have a large number of guests, the ceremony and banquet areas may be a bit limited, as these two spaces are not excessively large.

  2. Being surrounded by a lot of vegetation, there may be quite a few mosquitoes in the height of summer.

For us, La Vinyassa is one of those places we always look forward to returning to, both because of the magnificent space where it's located, which is wonderful for taking wedding photos and videos, and also because of the treatment we have always received from Jaume and Alicia every time we've been there. They have made us feel like part of the La Vinyassa family.

Mas Terrats

The Empordà region is one of Catalonia's most distinctive areas, dominated by the Costa Brava while also being close to the Pyrenees, offering a contrast of sea and mountains that leaves no one indifferent.

In the midst of this part of Catalonia, we find the beautiful Masia de Mas Terrats, an idyllic space that seems to be taken straight out of Tuscany. Surrounded by wheat fields and olive groves that envelop the entire estate.

Mas Terrats offers a plethora of spaces to ensure that the day progresses smoothly, providing a lot of customization options for the wedding. Each space can serve multiple functions, suitable for both the ceremony and cocktail hour or reception. Therefore, it's great for having a corner for every moment and thus maximizing the functionality of the space.

One of the conveniences of Mas Terrats is that it's similar to a holiday camp, allowing guests to stay overnight in the various rooms it offers. Additionally, it has very spacious presidential rooms that make the bride and groom's preparations much easier. The ideal scenario at Mas Terrats is to have everything outdoors, but if the weather doesn't cooperate, they have a spacious tent-like space where the wedding can continue without complications. Therefore, if you want to feel the summer breeze in an idyllic setting in the middle of Empordà, Mas Terrats is definitely the place for you.

Positive points:

  1. Many different outdoor environments.

  2. Idyllic location.

  3. Guest rooms available.

  4. Rustic atmosphere.

  5. Plan B in case of rain.

Negative points:

  1. Far from Barcelona.

  2. It can get quite hot in the height of summer.

La Baronia

A few kilometers from Sant Feliu de Codinas, amidst nature surrounded by mountains, lies the charming space of La Baronia, and the word charming is very literal in this case, as it's a house that seems to be taken out of a fairy tale. It's more akin to a castle with a very stately touch, yet it also has that rustic charm that we love.

La Baronia is one of those spaces that leaves you speechless the first time you see it; its presence as you walk through its interior halls and exterior courtyards is pure fantasy.

It's an ideal space to add a different touch to your wedding. If you want to stray a bit from the more traditional farmhouse, this is the place, as you still have the amenities that a farmhouse can offer, but with the personality that La Baronia provides. The ideal scenario is to do everything outdoors, with the ceremony in the lower courtyard offering incredible views of the house facade, followed by the cocktail hour in the upper courtyard surrounded by nature. In case the weather doesn't cooperate, they have a spacious tent-like space where the wedding can continue without complications.

Positive points:

  1. House with lots of charm and personality.

  2. Different places to hold the various parts of the wedding.

  3. Incredible rooms for preparations.

  4. Amazing views.

Negative points:

  1. Limited space, so it's a bit constrained for larger gatherings.

  2. There's a possibility for a plan B, though not too attractive.

For us, La Baronia is a place with a lot of charm, and it offers the possibility to take more creative and different photos and videos thanks to the type of space it is and the wide variety of corners it has. Additionally, the contrast between the interior and exterior parts of the space provides us with visually different content and a special essence.

Can Ribas

Can Ribas is a magnificent estate just a few minutes from Caldes de Montbui and La Ametlla del Vallés, with a privileged natural environment. It's an excellent option for organizing a wedding thanks to its spectacular landscape, facilities, and service.

This venue offers everything we could ask for in a wedding venue: a charming ceremony location with ample space for large weddings, a cocktail area in a beautiful garden with luxury views, and a banquet space with plenty of customization options.

At Can Ribas, we can also count on their gastronomic service, which offers many different high-quality options.

We would describe Can Ribas as a space where you don't have to worry about anything, as they take care of everything for you while still maintaining their charm and customization options for your wedding. For us, it's one of our favorite places to celebrate weddings, especially because the ceremony space is well-maintained and has an aesthetic touch with the house in the background that gives it a lot of personality.

Positive points:

  1. Space with a lot of customization options.

  2. High-quality in-house gastronomy.

  3. Different spaces for each moment of the wedding.

  4. Space suitable for a large number of guests.

Negative points:

  1. Unattractive option for the ceremony in case of rain.
